A Children's and Teen's Choice Award for the State of Mississippi

Each year, young readers across Mississippi are invited to participate in the Magnolia Book Awards by voting for their favorite books in four age categories. This annual event celebrates current literature and encourages a lifelong love of reding among children and teens.

Who Can Vote?

All Mississippi students form Pre-K through 12th grade are eligible to nominate and vote for their favorite titles. Voting takes place each February, and the winners are announced in April during the Fay B. Kaigler Children’s Book Festival, held at the University of Southern Mississippi.

How Voting Works

Each participating site in Mississippi will have a disgnated coordinator, such as a teacher, librarian or bookstore manager, who overses the voting process. Click here to vote!

Benefits for Voting Sites

Participating locations have a chance to win exciting prizes from the Fay B. Kailger Children’s Book Festival, including:

  •  Free registration to the Fay B. Kaigler Children’s Book Festival
  • A $250 honorarium for the site coordinator
  • A $250 honorarium to purchase books for the site’s library
